The future of service standards and international trade

by Clare Naden, 17 Juni 2016

From telecommunications to tourism, standards are essential in the services sector because they help to improve the quality of the service provided and ensure things work. As international trade in services flourishes, so does the need and potential for standards. We talk to David Shark, Deputy Director-General at the World Trade Organization (WTO), about his views on the future of service standards in the development of international trade.

David Shark was a key speaker at ISO’s “Global services: ISO standards as solutions” workshop held this week. For more information about services and standards, see our #servicestandards Website.
